limer|ick «LIHM uhr ihk, LIHM rihk», noun.
a kind of humorous verse of five lines. Example:
“There was a young lady from Lynn
Who was so exceedingly thin
That when she essayed
To drink lemonade
She slid down the straw and fell in.”
A limerick has a rhyme scheme with lines 1, 2, and 5 having three feet, and 3 and 4 having two feet.
